There is a tribe in Africa where the birth date of a child is counted not from when they were born, nor from when they areconceived but from the day that the child was a thought in its mother’s mind. And when a woman decides that she will have a child, she goes off and sits under a tree, by herself, and she listens until she can hear the song of the child. And after she’s heard the song of this child, she comes back to the man who will be the child’s father, and teaches it to him. And then, they sing the song of the child, as a way to invite him or her.
And then, when the mother is pregnant, the mother teaches that child’s song to the midwives and the old women of the village, so that when the child is born, the old women and the people around her sing the child’s song as a welcome. And then, as the child grows up, the other villagers are taught the child’s song. If the child falls, or hurts his knee, someone picks him up and sings his song to him. Or perhaps the child does something wonderful, or goes through the rites of puberty, then as a way of honoring this person, the people of the village sing his or her song.
The tribe recognizes that it is love and the remembrance of who you are that keeps you in alignment. When you recognize your own song, it helps to keep you on your path and you have no desire or need to do anything that would hurt yourself or another. And it goes this way through their life. In marriage, the songs are sung, together. And finally, when the person grows older and is at the end of life, all the villagers know his or her song, and they sing—for the last time—the song to that person.
IF NOT, THEN IT’S TIME…
I invite you to come away
Come away from the noise
and into the silence
to listen for your song
Sing Your HeartSong™
We all have a song that was imprinted on our very being since before the beginning.
But how many of us have forgotten our song?
How many of us didn’t even know we had one?
Sometimes it gets covered over with a lot of things and we forget it and need to spend time uncovering it to recognize it again.
Your Song is your own unique, individual song that only you can sing…
in your own individual unique voice,
but it may have been hard to hear in the midst
of all of the other voices in our ears…
or it may have been covered over or stifled by labels…
labels from mothers, siblings, parents teachers, society,
false beliefs and all the things we get caught up in…
or the fear if the others will even hear or like our song.
If you don’t know your song or if you haven’t sung it for a
while it doesn’t matter.
I’m encouraging you right now to
take a breath and come into your Center
and into that place of anchoring with the deepest part of yourself
so that you can connect with your song.
Listen for your song…
learn your song…
sing your song…
it’s just ready to burst forth from you right now…
ready to be out into the world
because that’s what you’re here to
do…
Sing Your Heartsong.
The more you get in touch with the
divine power and presence
within you, the more you come back to
Center, the more anchored you become, and
the more anchored you become in Your Song
because they’re One in the same.
You’re never too old, it’s never too late, and it’s never been too
long since you tried to… or if you didn’t even know about it.
It doesn’t matter because the only time is now.
So I invite you to step into
your own unique voice and discover your
HeartSong and let go of
all the things that’s been keeping you from singing it.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t sing
or sing it out of tune…
if you keep connecting with it,
it gets to be fine-tuned,
and then in-tune and
you sing it like never before!
You get to the place where Your Song starts to sing YOU…
You know when you walk around all day and you
have a particular song going through your head over and over?
That song is singing you… and that’s what
happens with your own song.
It wants to sing through you
but sometimes we block it by old stuff that we hold onto…
doubts, fears, concerns…
old songs that are no longer your song
or are other people’s songs they want you to sing…
but not your song.
You don’t have to keep singing it.
You can change your tune and sing your song right now.
Through this beautiful journey, you’ll discover yours.

ABOUT ORGENA ROSE
Hello, My name is Orgena Rose and although I’ve performed on Broadway, Carnegie Hall, PBS, Oprah, and Conan, I struggled with my voice and confidence. I had terrible stage fright and would lose my voice regularly. I was driven to succeed and although I’d achieved all I set out to, I felt empty, like there was something deeper missing. Then…
I left Broadway and stopped singing for 3 years.
That’s right, I walked away from the place many people strive their lives to get to and the success many spend their lives to achieve.
Actually, I hobbled away. My body had broken down and totally compacted on the right side with a cervial spine strain, bursitis in my shoulder, sciatica, a hamstring pull and a groin pull.
My body had enough…enough of me not listening to my soul that wanted to leave much earlier. I remember the very moment I went out on stage and knew I was done and didn’t want to do that anymore. There was something deeper calling me.
I didn’t want to “perform” anymore. I wanted to connect with people heart to heart. I wanted to share the words and message of my soul directly rather than through a character and a script.
I wanted to sing my own song.
The song that was hidden in my heart that I dared not sing out loud.
The song I’d been hiding since I was a child but was afraid to give voice to.
The song from the depths of my heart that is mine to share with the world.
It took a number of years and deep healing work to release my fears, find my soul’s voice,
step into the power of who I truly am and sing my heartsong.
My life transformed and I finally began living the vision I had deep inside me all along.
This powerful healing journey that I took to sing my Heartsong are what I share in these beautiful retreats.
I rebuilt my voice from the inside out and have helped thousands in universities, colleges, high schools and workshops all across the US and around the world for the past 20 years to do the same.
You will come away with your very own Heartsong…an actual song for you to sing from your soul and share with the world.
I will be sharing my heartsong at the retreat and look forward to seeing you there and hearing yours!
